This Pineapple Upside Down Dump Cake is an incredibly easy dessert with just 4 ingredients. It’s buttery, caramelized, and bursting with tropical pineapple flavor. Perfect for quick desserts, potlucks, and family gatherings.

- 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple (with juice)
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup brown sugar
- Maraschino cherries (optional, for decoration)
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for extra flavor)
- ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional, for crunch)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread the crushed pineapple (including the juice) evenly in the bottom of the dish.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar over the pineapple.
- Add the maraschino cherries on top if using.
- Evenly spread the dry cake mix over the fruit layer. Do not mix.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra crunch: Add chopped nuts on top before baking.
- For more spice: Mix a little cinnamon or nutmeg into the cake mix.
- For a dairy-free version: Replace butter with melted coconut oil or vegan butter.
- For a slow cooker version: Cook on HIGH for 2-3 hours or LOW for 4-5 hours.
